Lakeville Bred Artist Big Little Boy has been grinding away working on his craft

Big Little Boy has been working hard perfecting his sound. We were able to catch up with him and ask about 2021 goals, his hungry mentality, influences and much more. Make sure to tap in and listen to his recent single, "Man Of The Hour".

Boston Culture: Where did you from/ grow up?

Big Little Boy: I’m born and raised in a small town called Lakeville in Massachusetts. I wouldn’t say I had it hard but i wouldn’t say I had it easy either. I learned from a young age growing up with my mother and sister that whatever you want in life you gotta go get it.

Boston Culture: Talk to us about Man of The Hour.

Big Little Boy: I made this song to express my emotion to the rap game and showcase how I tell stories about my life while making a catchy song other people may be able to relate too.

Boston Culture : I want to get into the younger self's mentality to what shaped you.

Big Little Boy: Just events I had to deal with as a kid growing up jus made me wanna write something down and see what I could do with it. I have been working with 8scnds, he mix and masters my craft and really we create some absolute heaters in his studio. I came to him with a song called "Poetry In Motion" a few back and he did what he does and made it one of my most played songs. Mans is insane so we gotta lot of stuff coming. Boston Culture : What was the best advice you got early in your career?

Big Little Boy: Someone told me I couldn’t make it. Someone told me I couldn’t. Just everything like that I’ve been doubted in my life and I wanna prove them wrong so when I’m rapping I’m putting my all into it.

Boston Culture : What do you dislike about the art world/music industry?

Big Little Boy: it’s becoming more difficult to get recognized by being a real ass rapper. I got the talent , I got the drive , next step is to get recognized. People may not even look at my way cuz I only got 1200 followers on the gram , but I got what it takes to be big and that’s how I’m moving . Boston Culture : Did the pandemic affect any plans you had?

Big Little Boy: not really the pandemic keeping me inside really got my brain flowing and wrapping give me something to keep my mind busy so I was pushing out mad songs. Boston Culture : Who are your biggest influences?

Big Little Boy: growing up it was Lil Wayne is one of the all time goats . From his rhyme scheme to his on beat flows was insane . Also Big Sean I always use to listen to him growing up I just loved how he had so many different flows , truly gifted. Then theirs artist I listen to on the daily is like Juice Wrld, he is one of the best freestylers to ever walk the planet. He also speaks to me in a lot of ways Same with Xxxtentacion Rest In Peace to some true legends. I also listen to G herbo , flow jus too crazy. Ski mask , lil Durk , Polo G , Sheff G and Sleepy hallow. This list could go on forever.

Boston Culture : What do you think of the music scene in the State? Are there any other Boston producers or artists you'd potentially like to work with for the next project?

Big Little Boy: I think everyone doing they own thing for the most part and it’s lit. I’d love to work with anyone from mass that wants to make a banger and have some fun if they come correct that is . But ya for the most part I’m just working with 8scnds so as of now I don’t have anyone for next project. Boston Culture : Tell us about your goals for 2021. Both personal and business.

Big Little Boy: I wanna make a music video pretty soon so stay tuned for that. I also hope some music venues can open up and I can try to get the chance to open up for some rappers that would be a great start. Also I’m working on multiple new songs like I wanna drop an EP or album soon so also stay tuned for that.

Boston Culture : What us how you went about in your creative process, getting the beats, studio time, song writing, etc.

Big Little Boy: My studio time is all at my boys and I just get lit i don’t know I let my mind roam and i make songs all day. I just be free styling in my head and if I get some good I write it down then go off that then I got a song. I’ve made mad songs in school too for some reason it’s easier for me.

Boston Culture : How do you seek out opportunities?

Big Little Boy: I just try and get myself out there in contact as many people as I can and just try and make a name for myself. Boston Culture : Who's your favorite producer and artist? Mainstream and local.

Big Little Boy: favorite artist I can’t pick one if imma be honest all the artist I listen to i listen to a lot. Favorite artist local is Cousin Stizz. Favorite producer locally is my man 8scnds. And favorite mainstream producer would be CashMoneyAP.

Boston Culture : What brands should sponsor you?

Big Little Boy: I mean whoever were to sponsor me I’d be blessed. Boston Culture :Anything else we missed you want to tell your fans?

Big Little Boy: stay tuned . Big plans. I’m up next.
