Boston Culture: Where did you from/ grow up? How was that like?
Ike Rhein: Born October 4, 2001 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was in foster care for a lot of my young years (6-10) Before being adopted at age 11. Through it all music was always a decompressor and a strong passion for me. I moved to Florida to pursue my music career at age 18.
Boston Culture: Talk to us about "Break it Down" Ike Rhein: Break It Down is one of my favorite songs I've ever written. It's a party vibe and it's impossible to not feel the beat. Coming soon is A Break It Down Remix featuring YN Jay. It will be an instant hit and I'm very excited for my fans to hear it!
Boston Culture: Talk to us about your creative process and how you record. Ike Rhein: For me when I write songs it's all about what's going to either impact someone or what's going to spark interest in their mind, catchy songs. I like my fans to feel the joy and the sadness in my music. As far as recording, I do a lot of vocal training and consume plenty of honey!
Boston Culture : What was the best advice you got early in your career? Ike Rhein: The best advice I got early in my career is that ‘It is that simple” A lot of people will say you know it's impossible to get your music heard and it's not easy to make a career out of music. It's not that simple, they say. But in reality it is that simple. You put in the work now and you shine later. One of my life mottos is “grind now shine later”. Boston Culture: What do you dislike about the art world/music industry? Ike Rhein: One of the hardest things about the music industry is the legal aspect. Theres a lot of things that go into a music artist on the business and legal side that a lot of people don't see.
Boston Culture: Who or what are some of your biggest influences? Ike Rhein: I would say Justin Bieber is one of my biggest influences. The way he sings and the way he lives his life really motivates me. As far as what are some of my biggest influences I would say my past. Coming from a rough childhood it really influenced me to work hard and persevere. To have the strength to get to where I want to be.
Boston Culture : What do you think of the music scene in the State? Ike Rhein: I believe Florida has one of the best music scenes in the country. There's nothing like music in Miami. The mix of cultures and the atmosphere of the city bring so much inspiration and life. Shout out to Ryan Emond (Moogey) for making the best beats! Boston Culture : Anything else we missed you want to tell your fans? Ike Rhein: I want to thank all of my fans for rocking with me and believing in me. New music is coming soon!
